Apparently I blog once every 6 months

So, we're having a baby. This is not news to anyone I think, but I thought I'd just say that it's exciting to know that you can love someone so much and that happens to create a new life to share that love even more.

So his name is John Paul. Yes, he's named after the late Pope because JP II was a great leader and visionary and had so much love for people. Although, it will be weird to say things like "John Paul, get your finger out of your nose." Can't believe it's only 2.5 months away. Say some prayers for Lindsey and me.

Rules of Engagement

1. Ask parents, live in person. You may doubt it, but it's worth it. Every dad, and likely mom, wants their future son-in-law to treat their daughter with up most respect. A good way to know you are capable of that is to "man up" and ask her parents when planning to be engaged.

2. Plan something special that fits you. If you and your future fiancée are outgoing, do something outgoing like. If you prefer more to just be with each other, just do something special for the 2 of you.

3. Sunny weather, blue skies, and a blue ocean won't hurt either way.

4. Don't start wedding planning right away. It's fun just to be 'engaged'

5. Don't put off wedding planning too long. You want to get the fun, cool, but not expensive place to be married and celebrate it.

So, anyways, I really love being engaged.

Being married will be better.

Knock, Knock.

Who's there?

Esther.

Esther who?

Esther Bunny.

Knock, knock.

Who's there?

Cargo.

Cargo who?

Car go, "Beep! Beep!" and run over Esther Bunny.

Notes: I felt compelled to go back over this and update for grammar errors, etc. Whew.

So, happy Easter to my 1 or 2 readers in Cyber space. My parents are going to bed now. They came for a visit since my brothers were not going home to Kokomo. We had a good time. Mostly sat around my house and talked and enjoyed the weather that was muggy, but not too hot. Definately ate the Honey-baked ham and drank lemonade. Lindsey stopped by after she got back from visiting her family in TN, which was nice of her (on a side note, Kooky is a kind of dance).

Well, this is not deep or inspiring, it just is ... life is like that sometimes and it is good - life that is.

I don't blog a lot

So, I realize that I don't update this blog a great deal. I may do so more often. I think it's a good outlet to get your thoughts out. Maybe it'll improve my writing since I no longer really write all that much anymore.

So, Lindsey is going to Notre Dame for law school in the fall. I think it's the right decision for her. I've never really done the long distance relationship thing, so I think I've been less "worried" about it than people expect. I guess there is also the fact that we're still 4 months away from this being reality, so it's good to just spend time being with each other instead of worrying about a future state that neither of us can accurately define. Heck, there's also that little thing that Notre Dame returns most of it's football team from last fall, so there will be a lot of excitement around campus, etc, when I do visit.

In other news, my brother and sister are visiting along with the kids today. I'm looking forward to experiencing life through their eyes. Kids are awesome.

That's all for now.

Stupid Packers

So, I've been a fan of the Packers since I was born (perhaps before that in the womb). I suffered many a disappointing season as a young packer fan. Then, one Brett Favre became the QB and we had some golden years. Well, it would appear that his career may be in sunset (yes, they have a veritable amount of injuries this year, too). Either way, I hope this year is not the beginning of a stretch of bad seasons for my beloved Green and Gold.

Go cheeseheads!
